Akane Sushi Richmond Hill

The quality of the food at this restaurant is well beyond anything you would expect in the suburbs. The fish tastes fresh and the rice is high quality sushi rice. Generally you have to head to downtown to get sushi/sashimi that tastes this good. The service is suburb, they actually make you feel like you matter and that you are at a friends house. Finally, for the quality of the food the prices are more than reasonable. I also like that I can get Soju at this restaurant as I prefer it with sushi to Sake. I can recommend Akane without reservation.

Used to visit every Friday. But a few times we went there and the service was terrible. Specially when the older lady is around. My last Uber order missed the rice and the portion was super small. Won't be visiting again when there much better alternatives in the area. The $20 Sashimi lunch is attached.

Great food and service! The sushi boat for 2 was delicious and filling. Our server was so sweet and took good care of us. The place isn't super big and says express on the outside but there is some decent seating inside.

First time visiting Akane since they moved from the original hwy 7 location. Very impressed with the service, food quality and atmosphere. Prices have gone up significantly, but where hasn't the price gone up since the pandemic. Worth a visit for the fresh fish, fast and friendly service.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Akane Sushi in Carrville. The service was top-notch, as the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. To my surprise, we were even treated to a complimentary fish head and noodle soup, which was a delicious start to our meal. The standout dish for me was definitely the sushi pizza. The deep-fried rice with salmon and mayo was a perfect combination of flavors and textures. It was a unique twist on traditional sushi, and I highly recommend trying it. The handroll was also outstanding, as it was stuffed with a generous amount of fresh avocado and salmon. The combination was delicious, and the roll was expertly made. Lastly, the tempura batter was perfect. It was light and crispy, not at all greasy. The shrimp and vegetables were cooked to perfection, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. In conclusion, Akane Sushi in Carrville is a must-visit for sushi lovers. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the overall experience is fantastic.

So excited for this place to open at this location. I liked them before they moved here, and it's even better now. The owners are friendly and welcoming, and they've done a fantastic job with the new space. The quality of the food is great, and of excellent value. They have many menu options and good presentation. The rolls are amazing, the poke bowls are good too, and appetizers are delicious. The sushi love boat is a favourite item on the menu. I look forward to trying more of their items, as I will be back there many times.
