Afro's Pizza

Delicious Chicago deep dish style pizza’s. Their menu is unique and a must try! It’s a pretty small shop so there’s basically only standing room. There is no dine in option so be prepared to take your food somewhere else. In the summer they set up some tables outside but it’s seasonal. Reasonable prices, my next try is their pastas.

Got the Netflix and Chill with my partner. Got the Davis Jr. and Whispers. Both pizzas were delicious and a single personal pizza was plenty for one person. The dough was nice and soft with the sides being nice and crisp. The Davis Jr had a really nice sauce to it and the Whispers had a nice cheesy flavour that went well with the mushrooms. There's no seating for dine in. Definitely order online to avoid the wait!

I can tell they use quality ingredients but the chicken and waffles pizza is a miss. The water melon and pecans on a cheese pizza with chicken wasn't a combo that worked for me. I think if you like pineapple on pizza you might like the combo though. I accidentally ordered this through their website and when I told them about the mix up they just told me to try it anyway so that's what I did. I didn't like it and I didn't eat it. Took an L on this one.

1) A couple of French-trained chefs running a takeout-only literal hole-in-the-wall Afro Caribbean pizza spot playing classic hiphop when you step in (pretty much just room for 1 person at a time in there). Says it all: hidden gem. 2) Probably the most inventive and uniquely flavourful pizza I’ve ever had (oxtail pizza?? Some sort of marinated watermelon on the other?? Amazing). All without skimping on the things that make a Detroit-style (what I’d compare this to) pizza great: super crispy edges, satisfying depth to the base and toppings, high quality dough. 3) There was a mixup in when we should come back for our pizzas, and we found out the owner had them make us fresh ones rather than have us take our original ones which had been ready for a while. Totally unnecessary but hugely appreciated and speaks to the passion these guys have for the quality of their pizzas and what they want customers to experience.

Just had Afro’s Pizza for the first time and just had the greatest experience that I felt compelled to leave a review. The restaurant is definitely more focused on takeout with a small store and not many seats to eat there, but there are outdoor seating available in the warmer months. The customer service was superb and you can tell the owner really cares about his customer and his food. He was really friendly and if there was an issue he addressed it immediately. As for taste, this is definitely one of the top pizza places in Toronto if you like thicker crust pizza. 1 personal pizza is enough make you feel stuffed. Would come back again to try some different flavours for pizza and try their pasta as well!

Afro Pizza Spot is definitely worth the trip and the wait! The pizza here is exceptional, and I love that they’ve kept the menu simple. Each pizza is made fresh while you wait, ensuring top-notch quality. We tried the Netflix and Chill combo, which was more than enough for two people. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Amazing Detroit Style Pizza! Sooooo good! I had one personal pan & I was just stuffed! So many varieties & selections to choose from including Mac & Cheese! I love the Sammy Davis Jr but going to try lobster one next! Great service too. Nathan was AWESOME! informative, professional & friendly service. Thank you Nathan! 💯 Update August 2024: Recently tried their lobster pizza & not impressed. Def not worth the $25 price- $30 with tax/tip. Was very disappointed. It does not alter my 5 STAR ⭐️ review, however, as I just won’t be ordering that one again & just sticking with my personal fave- Sammy Davis Jr.

Extremely delicious pizza for a great price! Their Davis Jr. personal pizza was so good and they accommodated taking the jalapeños off for me. The square pie is 4 x 4 × 1 inch deep with lots of flavor in the dough. The place is quite small with very limited seating but the staff are super cool and provide very great customer service. It takes a while for the pizza to come out but it's 100% worth it! Yum! Came back to try the Houston Caprese and it was *chef's kiss* as amazing as the other pies. Love this place and their unique flavors! Will be trying the others when I get the chance.
