We had tried Ethiopian food before and we loved it so we decided to try Eritrean food this time. I loved the lamb tibs especially with hot flavour which isn’t very hot for us Asians. The awaze was good too. The service was excellent. A very sweet family run place.

Continuing my exploration on Bloor Street west of Dufferin (Bloordale Village), I was happy to find the African Delight Cafe and Restaurant. I love Ethiopian and Eritrean food. The picture of the lamb tibs on the window looked very inviting, so I went in. The staff was initially very friendly, and I asked permission to photograph the nice decor of the restaurant - which was granted on condition that no people were in the photos. I agreed and photographed the decor while no one was around (per the photos included below). When the food arrived, I started to photograph the lamb tibs only. Unfortunately, one of the staff felt it necessary to become hostile. I was yelled at once, and then within a few seconds the one staff member decided to yell at me again: "I said no people in the photos!" There were no people sitting on, or around, my dish of lamb tibs. I don’t understand why did this happen at all, and what changed between the first and second times I got yelled at? I didn't have time to even dip my hand in the food. The lamb tibs were good. This is a good restaurant with good food. I would like to return - with my camera locked in a box - if necessary.

Absolutely delicious Ethiopian food! Very flavorful dishes! Tender meat and unique offerings. Service was quite friendly, though a little slow. I have been to a number of Ethiopian restaurants, this one was by far the best. Will definitely return.

Delicious food!!! Hidden gem in Toronto. It’s the first time I try African food and I loved it! The taste is really good, the way to eat is a new experience. It’s a local restaurant and you can learn from the staff, who are also really friendly. The prices are affordable. Definitely a must if you come to Toronto!

Had the pleasure of visiting this authentic Ethiopian restaurant last night! It’s like a hidden gem! A lot of options to choose from! I absolutely enjoyed their food! As good as it looked, it tasted equally good! Must try their veg & non veg platters, fish Tilapia, okra w meat , lamb and authentic ethiopian coffee.

What a great spot for amazing Eritrean food. They have such a great variety of vegetable dishes and meat dishes. My favourite was the lamb. And the beef and okra The injera is also amazing and is perfect with every dish. Make sure you check them out

THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC ERITREAN RESTAURANT AND IT IS NOT ETHIOPIAN RESTAURANT. PERIOD! The delicious foods and the traditional coffee are pure Eritrean. You can name other restaurants as Eritrean and Ethiopia restaurant loosely but not this restaurant. This restaurant is the pride of Eritreans here in Toronto. This restaurant is the only restaurant in Toronto that serves all kind of foods that are typical Eritrean foods. Meaning they have food from the higher and lower lands of Eritrea. Most Eritrean restaurants if not all in diaspora serve foods that are only typical in higher lands of Eritrea or only typical in lower lands of Eritrea but not both. Africa Delight does both. I just wanted to make this clear. No political gesture is intended with my comments. Of course our Ethiopians friends are more than welcome to any Eritrean restaurants like we Eritreans are welcome to any Ethiopian restaurants. I just wanted to make clear that this is NOT Ethiopian restaurant. It is Eritrean. Next time you want to go to this awesome restaurant please say you are going to Eritrean restaurant. Thanks you for readying my long comment 😁 On the pix, these are what we had today and we destroyed them. Satisfaction was attained!!

A quiet place in the bloordale area. A must visit for Ethiopian cuisines. The food is absolutely delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We tried the lamb tibs with injara and quanta (sun dried beef curry) with rice. The food was hot and fresh. Definitely going back for more.
