Food was absolutely delicious - highly recommend the fried chicken and volcano malatang, but everything food-wise was 5/5. The tartare was perfectly paired with the sweet pears. Pancake was crispy and good. Drinks were ok, we ordered a few highballs and it was a bit sour for our taste. Ambiance was cool and great if you’re looking for a bar-like setting. The music in particular was amazing! Seating was decently comfortable but was a bit tight. We had a group of 8 while the table felt more appropriate for a group of 6.

The food was okay overall. I think it will be better if go with their soju and cocktails, but we didn't do alcohol. I was going for their famous stir fried beef intestine and beef tartare. Honestly I was a bit let down coz I had high expectations - the raw beef was too chewy and the beef intestine was too strong on black pepper sauce. I do love the pear on the side with the beef tartare, it was refreshing and Korean style. This place is a bar and very loud after dark. Our waitress was attentive.

This place is extremely popular and is a Korean-style izakaya that attracts many Korean customers, which speaks to its authenticity and popularity. The dishes are very flavorful, and you can find some items that are rarely seen in other izakayas, such as soy-marinated raw shrimp. The service after being seated was quite prompt, but the waiting process was a bit chaotic. People who arrived after us were seated before us, which is something I hope the restaurant can improve on. 88 Volcano Malatang ($38.88): This hotpot is arranged in the shape of a volcano, with vegetables inside and beef around the outside. The flavor is similar to Sichuan-style boiled beef, but it’s less oily and still very flavorful. This dish is great for those looking to reduce fat intake, but it is a bit salty, so make sure to drink plenty of water. Soy Marinated Raw Shrimp ($18.88): Soy-marinated raw shrimp is a dish you don’t often see in other Korean restaurants. It has a sweet and salty taste, and the shrimp is tender and delicious. The only issue is that while the shrimp’s back vein has been removed, the inner vein hasn’t, so you might need to remove it yourself if that bothers you. I really enjoyed this dish, and the shrimp is already peeled, making it easy to eat. Corn Cheese ($12.88): This is a delicious sweet corn with cheese dish, reminiscent of mayonnaise mixed with corn, topped with grilled cheese. It’s very tasty.

Interesting new restaurant with surprising items such as raw marinated shrimp and crab that you don’t usually see at Korean restaurants in GTA. The raw marinated shrimps were really good. I loved how it was peeled already (except for the head and tail) and it was big and not too salty. There was a lot of meat in the raw crabs and wasn’t sandy like other places. The 88 volcano malatang was quite spicy but it I appreciated how there was vegetables and meat.

If you enjoy Korean food, love spicy dishes (there are non-spicy options as well), and enjoy spending your evenings with alcoholic beverages to accompany your meal, this is a place you don’t want to miss. Their food portions are large, so they are definitely good enough for more than four people to share. For two people, it might be too much (it depends on how much you eat). The ambiance is lovely, and the music isn’t too loud, so you can have a nice conversation with friends. I loved all the food we ordered, but my favorite dish from here is the chicken cartilage; it’s so soft and yet still chewy on the cartilage.

Good food, vibe and comfortable environment. Owner is extremely friendly, very nice to meet you Jay. Steamed beef and pork, Rose Mala pasta and snow cheese fries are very good with alcohol. Wish you all the best, will be back soon!
