These authentic flavors are a rare find, even in Sri Lankan households, making it remarkable to experience them in Canada. A hallmark of Sri Lankan cuisine is the hopper—a thin crepe shaped like a bowl, with a soft center (optionally with an egg) and crispy edges. 5 Spice Dining excels in this regard, serving perfect hoppers that highlight their culinary skill. However, their koththu roti, made with non-traditional roti, might not meet expectations, though this is easily overlooked given the abundance of other rare dishes available. Overwhelmed by the options, I indulged in a feast, resulting in delicious leftovers that brought joy to this Sri Lankan for days. The GTA seems to be the only place in Canada with such high-quality Sri Lankan food, a claim that Vancouver, for instance, cannot match. The dining experience begins with a touch of chaos—standing at the entrance while the host is on the phone—but the service quickly improved thanks to our server, Hiruni. Her genuine Sri Lankan hospitality ensured we had a great experience. My non-Sri Lankan companions expressed surprise at the marked difference between Sri Lankan and Indian food—a sentiment that resonates deeply with Sri Lankans who often tire of being mistaken for their neighbours. This acknowledgment of our unique cultural and culinary identity was a gratifying moment, reflecting the importance of representation and understanding. 5 Spice Dining is a must-visit for anyone curious about Sri Lankan food. It offers an authentic and expansive culinary journey through Sri Lanka's rich food heritage, making it a standout in Canada's multicultural mosaic.

Oh five spice reminds me of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and taste they were amazing, very good qty of food and amazing packaging. I will definitely walk in soon. Highly recommend this place for authentic dishes!

Authentic Sri Lankan Food & Excellent Service Fantastic experience! Every dish was bursting with authentic Sri Lankan flavors, from the perfectly spiced curries to the delicious appetizers. Our server, Hirunika, was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this place!

I would definitely come here again. The atmosphere is great and comfortable. Food is really good as well. Nisansala was so helpful and lovely. It's no wonder the restaurant had many happy customers. The owner is also very friendly and pleasant.

The food was delicious! Every dish we tried was fantastic, especially the Chettinad Chicken Curry and the Mutton Kottu Rotti. The rose falooda was also excellent. Despite the restaurant being nearly at full capacity, our food arrived quickly. The wait staff was friendly and courteous, but the level of service declined after the food was served. We loved the falooda so much that we ordered a second one, but we had to remind the staff three times before it arrived. Once our food was served, no one checked in on us, and our water glasses were left unfilled. When it came time to settle the bill, it took so long that we decided to go to the front desk to pay. Perhaps the service is better during less busy periods.
